Tennis World Albert Reserve - Cnr. Hanna Street & St. Kilda Road, Melbourne 3000

The Australian Open was first played in 1905 at the Warehouseman’s Cricket Ground in Melbourne. Today, the Warehouseman’s Cricket Ground is called the Albert Reserve Centre and is run by Tennis World throughout the year. The Albert Reserve Centre is also used as the official training venue during the Australian Open. The Albert Reserve facilities include 9 Plexi-cushion (blue) Outdoor Courts, Clubhouse with café, lounge area, function room, BBQ facilities, change-room and shower facilities, pro shop and professional restring service


Tennis is a popular sport played at all levels of skill and by players of all ages. Every athlete aims in passing the ball to the opponent's side of the net, striking it with a tennis racquet. The sport emphasizes values, such as fair play, sportsmanship and respect for fellow competitors. Tennis is not only fun to play, but it is a lifetime sport activity that is fun to practice and fun to learn.
